At the conference on university autonomy on August 4, the Ministry of Education and Training announced that the number of training disciplines opened by independent schools increased by 1.5 times from 2016 to 2022 (from about 100 to nearly 250 industries). Along with opening the new majors, international joint affiliate training programs with universities worldwide also flourished.
As of December 2021, the country has 408 international joint affiliate training programs. Including 101 programs are associated with universities in the UK, 59 with the US, 53 with France, and 37 with Australia.
