According to Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, the education sector in Ho Chi Minh City aims to digitize the entire education system by 2030.
Currently, the network of schools in Ho Chi Minh City has nearly 2,360 educational institutions, including over 1,350 kindergartens, 514 primary schools, 286 secondary schools, and 204 high schools. In addition, the city has 1,791 regular educational institutions, 51 education institutions, and the Ho Chi Minh City National University, which has more than 50 colleges. The school system in the city is planned, distributed evenly, and invested in construction from the inner city to the outskirts, meeting the educational needs of the people’s children.
According to Mr. Bui Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, the city considers education development a top priority. Therefore, the budget allocated for education in the town increases annually, currently accounting for 28% of the regular budget and 20% of the city’s basic construction investment budget.
A common database for the entire sector has successfully connected to the city’s general database and the Ministry of Education and Training’s general database, ensuring compliance with technical requirements and standards.
The city focuses on building an electronic resource library and an online learning management system (LMS) and has completed the geographic information system (GIS) for education. Currently, 100% of districts and districts enroll in primary classes through online forms.
