EdTech dialogue with Colleges & University: Practice and prospects of collaboration 12/01/2024

Hosted by Edtech Agency, the successful event unfolded on January 12th, featuring the active participation of representatives from more than 40 universities and colleges in the Northern region.

Opening the event, Ms. Maria from HolonIQ shared insights into global trends in applying educational technology at universities. She drew upon research reports from HolonIQ to provide a comprehensive overview of the current landscape.

Dr. Cuong highlighted existing “challenges” between educational institutions and EdTech entities throughout the event. He underscored the necessity for a more integrated collaboration, stating, “In our assessment spanning over five years of engaging with EdTech businesses, we observe positive aspects but find a lack of cohesion. Collaboration must align technological advancements with educational goals, finding common ground instead of leaning towards extremes.”

Dr. Cuong emphasized, “Educational institutions and businesses shape a ‘market,’ providing fertile ground for developing collaborative models. Here, EdTech assumes an immensely crucial role.”

Prof. Dr. Le Duc Ngoc stressed the importance of collaboration in developing high-quality human resources. He urged EdTech companies and educational institutions to collaborate in establishing output standards, quality management processes, and product evaluation, aiming to research and introduce technologically sound and practical products for workforce training.

Furthermore, Dr. Le Hieu Hoc, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Pedagogy at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, highlighted the indispensable role of startups within educational institutions. He discussed the need for appropriate legal frameworks to facilitate cooperation between the two parties.

The event saw the participation of over 40 universities and colleges in the Northern region. Notable EdTech solution providers such as AWS (Amazon Web Services), renowned for its comprehensive cloud computing platform; Videa EdTech, the first and only Moodle partner in Vietnam, offering digital transformation solutions for education; and ELSA Corp, the owner of the top 5 AI-powered English pronunciation app, ELSA Speak, with over 54 million downloads globally, also shared their insights and solutions.
